Hello and welcome! I’m Mari Avalos, and I’ve been living in Italy and cooking Italian food for over 22 years.

When I moved here in 2002, I fell in love not just with Italy, but with its food, its traditions, and the way cooking brings people together. My wonderful Italian mother-in-law welcomed me into her kitchen and taught me how to cook the way Italians do—simple, flavorful, and from the heart. Her wisdom shaped my love for authentic Italian cuisine, and over the years, I’ve made these recipes my own.

I’m also passionate about traveling and discovering the stories behind different dishes, which has deepened my appreciation for Italy’s incredible regional food culture. Whether it’s a traditional recipe passed down for generations or a modern version, I love sharing dishes that bring comfort and joy to the table.
